I awoke, stretching in bed as I had always done, and staring up at the ceiling of stone which had always fascinated me, ever since I was a child. The stone was colored beautifully, with swirls of black and white that never seemed to remain in the same place, no matter how long you looked at them, or how much you knew about stonework.
